Inspired by an old photograph, the historic Barkli Gallery (2017) has been reimagined to present a contemporary twist on the historic heritage of Moscow. Working within the parameters of pre-existing architecture that originated at the start of the twentieth century, the Barkli Gallery became an effort to preserve a sense of history. The areas designed were the lobby, lift cabins, and corridors. Utilizing a warm, light grey colour palette and soft carpets, carved wood, and marbles, a bright and sophisticated, yet soft and intimate style is expressed. The interior design is accented by precious materials, including a leaded glass entrance, wooden wall panelling, textile tapestry and draping, and brass. Along with its oversized artwork, the Le Roi Soleil chandelier highlights this legendary space.
