Laufen presents the Falconnier Chandelier, a unique piece created by Marcel Wanders that pays tribute to the architect Gustave Falconnier, inventor of the ‘briques de verre’.

Fascinated by Falconnier’s work, LAUFEN asked Marcel Wanders to conceive an article that would act as a bridge between two symbiotic elements: Falconnier’s glass and LAUFEN’s ceramics. It is on this assumption that Falconnier Chandelier was born, a unique chandelier that pays tribute to the history and invention of the Swiss architect. “The chandelier is a work of art, with each piece carefully floating to create a stunning display of light”, Marcel Wanders explains. “With a light stripe around the glass bricks and light coming from the canopy, one must experience the warm and welcoming glow. The chandelier reminds us of the beauty surrounding us”.

With eight pendants in Falconnier glass and eleven in Saphirkeramik, the ultra-thin and resistant ceramic material developed by LAUFEN, in three shades of blue and one of white, this chandelier perfectly expresses the history of design as a perennial, indestructible, and renewable concept.
