Timeless pieces, inspired by exploration, mobility and adventure add to the Louis Vuitton Objets Nomades Collection. The ‘Chaise Longue’ (2015), together with the ‘Rocking Chair’ and the ‘Diamond Screen’ (2017), express a heritage of quality and excellence. From four independent modules bound by soft leather straps, the ‘Chaise Longue’ transforms into a relaxing, sensual oasis. Crafted with wood and leather, the limited-edition ‘Rocking Chair’ comfortably cradles adults as it reprises the golden metal bumper corner element and the matelassé cushioned textile pattern found in traditional Louis Vuitton travel trunks. The ‘Diamond Screen’ is a modular room divider that combines geometric leather modules and can form versatile open, closed, or see-through partitions.
The Diamond Mirrors (2018) have been designed in two sizes and are referred to as the large Diamond Mirror and the petit Diamond Mirror. They feature a central octagon that is circled by 25 smaller triangular mirrors and use dazzling geometric design to create poetic reflections. Each mirror’s faceted rigid structure is enveloped in Louis Vuitton’s rich Nomade leather and reveals Louis Vuitton’s emblematic contrasting stitching. The petits Diamond Mirrors are mounted on a heavyweight silvery brass stand with a marble foot.
While at Salone del Mobile 2019, Marcel Wanders launched new pieces in collaboration with Louis Vuitton. Reflecting an iconic heritage of adventure and mobility, the items within this new collection is the Diamond Vase that is made of Venetian Murano blown glass. Holding the glass is a structure made of leather straps that are woven together to embrace and protect the container within. The Diamond Vase and Sofa are offered in red, the latter with an iconic silver version that stands out. The sofa’s framing is wood woven together in a way that presents a transparent structure beneath the leather cushioning above. It is designed as both a one-person seat and a three-person sofa.
The Venezia Lamp is a hanging light inspired by the classic Venetian lantern. This lighting includes lamps with woven leather stripes that are appointed with black metal rivets. This design recreates the same effect created by Murano lanterns with blown glass that expands through a metal cage.
During Design Week Miami 2021, the Petal Chair was launched. This elegantly constructed dining chair created by Marcel Wanders is covered in comfortable, rich cream Louis Vuitton leather and resembles a flower in bloom. The seat warmly embraces the body, creating the sense of resting amid a landscape of petals. Within this ethereal setting, the stems of each petal seem to grow from the ground, eliminating the distinction between the body and nature. Designed with an arrangement of four petals as the seat, this functional and enduringly beautiful chair emulates nature as it brings Louis Vuitton’s iconic flower to life.
Finally, the ‘Capeline lamps’ (2023) are the first lighting pieces in this collection of Objets Nomades. The limited-edition Capeline lamp features three delightfully undulating aureoles of frosted glass inspired by – and named after – a type of wide-brimmed women’s hat. Available as a wall lamp and two sizes of ceiling light, the Capeline allows the glow from its dimmable LED to diffuse beautifully across the graceful circles of carefully crafted Czech glass.
